Welcome to ‘The Reading Lux’

My name is Kirsten and welcome to my bookish blog!

For as long as I can remember, books have been my constant companion. The weight and smell of a book has been comforting. Reading has helped me through some sad times and also given me great joy.

Fierce female characters have been an inspiration for many of my life’s struggles. Feyre, Katnis, Hermione, Nesta, Celaena and Bryce have been my inspiration for being a better human. Those fictional sisters of mine fight for their families, their love, and for what is right.

I want to be a writer. I’ve always been aware that my writing needs to improve if I plan to be the next Sarah J. Maas or Jennifer L. Armentrout… so do my blog posts!

So, why do I want to blog? I want to have more bookish conversations. I want to improve my writing, share my thoughts on novels, share what I’ve learnt from uni, and share my work. I also want to read a broader range of novels. I want to read Best Sellers and I want others to know whether books are worth a read.

Helping other writers is a reason for this blog. I don’t know everything. I’m an amateur, but I’ve been studying Creative Writing at the Open University. My plan is to complete a master’s degree in five years, after the completion of my Batchelor’s.
